“How much do you
eat before your workout
in the morning?”
I used to eat a ton of food in the morning before I worked out at the gym on campus.
I believed that food was fuel for body. Right?
Well, not exactly.
By eating all that food, I was getting really tired during my workout. Then, I found out that digesting all that food made me tired. My body was not only using energy for my workout, but I was forcing it to expend a lot of energy trying to digest all that food.
So, have a small breakfast instead, then workout.
Now, I have a spinach shake with a banana and a rice cake with almond butter plus a grapefruit. Then, I go workout at the gym. These days, I feel like I have so much more energy when I work out. My body isn’t tired anymore. It will work for you, too.
Think about how you feel after a traditional Thanksgiving meal. You feel so stuffed, you don’t want to move off the couch. It’s because your body is trying to digest all that food. And that’s what happens when you eat a big meal before you go workout. It doesn’t make sense to have a really big meal before you go workout. But you should have a really good “post” workout meal with lots of vegetables, good carbs, and lean proteins.
Don’t stuff yourself before you…
go workout because that’s a recipe for a very tired workout.
