Squats are gaining popularity, but are they worth the hype?

Yes.  Yes, they are.

They can not only help you get a more firm booty, but they can also help you lose weight, as they tackle the entire lower half of your body.  If you wonder how to do squats the right way, you’ve come to the right place.  These 7 steps will take care of you.

Feet wider than your shoulder

Make sure your feet are wider than your shoulders, so your body is grounded and properly supported.

Booty Sticking out

Stick out your bum, as if you were about to sit on a chair.  This will help you target your gluts muscles.

Shoulders back

Pull your shoulders back, so your spine is straight, and your body is not slouching.

Arm extended in front

Arms extended in front like superman, or holding weights, depending on your level of strength and experience.  Tip: Try squats without weights first, and add weights later on when you’ve mastered the posture.

Look straight ahead

Make sure you are looking in front of you when you are doing your squat, and not at the ground.  This will help keep your neck straight, and help to keep you balanced.

Bend your knees

Now that your posture is good, bend your knees so your bum gets closer to the ground.

Get back up using leg muscles

When your knees are bent to about 90 degrees, get back up using your leg muscles (not your back).  This will help your bum and your legs get stronger and leaner. Repeat this exercise until you feel your legs starting to get tired.
